Lasagna Rolls

Ingredients:

lasagna noodles

hamburger

Italian Sausage

fresh mozzarella cheese

Parmesan bechamel (see recipe)

marinara sauce (see recipe)

freshly grated Parmesan for topping

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

  1. Make Marinara Sauce (see recipe)

  2. Cook noodles until soft enough to roll - do not over cook. Drain and arrange the noodles in a single layer on a baking sheet to prevent them from sticking. Set aside.

  3. Make meatballs. Combine the breadcrumbs, Parmesan, tomato paste, salt, pepper, eggs, garlic and onions. Add hamburger and Italian sausage. With your hands, gently mix all the ingredients until thoroughly combined.

  4. Form meatballs and brown all sides. Set aside (They do not need to be fully cooked as they will continue to cook in the oven.)

  5. Make Parmesan bechamel (see recipe)

  6. Coat casserole dish or pie plate with baking spray and put a thin layer of marinara on the bottom.

  7. On a clean surface, lay out one lasagna noodle; coat with marinara sauce, bechemel, and small pieces of mozzarella. Roll up and place in casserole dish – seam side down. Repeat

  8. Nestle meatballs around rolled pasta.

  9. Top with marinara sauce, bechemel and sliced mozzarella cheese.

  10. Cover with foil and bake for about 20 minutes until warmed through and cheese is melted. Top with grated Parmesan.
