Spicy Shrimp

Ingredients:

16 jumbo shrimp, peeled, deveined and butterflied

2 jalapenos, seeded and cut into thin strips

8 thin bacon slices, cut in half

butter

1 clove garlic, pressed or grated

salt and black pepper

hot sauce

toothpicks

Instructions:

  1. Soak toothpicks in water for 20 to 30 minutes.

  2. Put half strips of bacon in a 400 degree oven for 6 to 8 minutes so they get a head start on cooking but are still pliable. Rest them on paper towel .

  3. ​Butterfly shrimp and place 2 or 3 jalapeno strips in the center of each and close up.

  4. Wrap bacon around shrimp and secure with a toothpick. 

  5. Place wrapped shrimp on a broiler drip pan

  6. Melt the butter in a small pan and combine with the garlic and salt, pepper and hot sauce.

  7. Brush butter mixture all over the shrimp and cook at 400 degrees until bacon is crisp.
