Soft Bread Sticks
Ingredients: 1 doz
1 cup plus 2 tbl warm water
1 1/2 tsp yeast
2 tbl sugar
3 tbl butter, melted
2 tsp salt
1 to 3 1/2 cups flour

Right out of the oven:
butter melted
sea salt
garlic powder

Instructions:

Dissolve yeast in warm water and sugar. Set aside to 'bubble'

Sift salt and flour together.

Mix yeast water and butter until well combined.

Using a wooden spoon, start adding the flour about a cup at a time until it can be set out on a floured surface to be kneaded.

Knead dough about ten minutes adding flour as needed.

Drizzle a little oil a bowl and roll dough around to lightly oil all sides. Cover, place in a warm place and let rise to double in size - about one hour.

Pull off a chunk of dough about the size of a large egg and shape into a bread stick. Remember it will expand. Lay out on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper.

Let rest for about 30 minutes. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.

As soon as you take them out, brush them with garlic butter and sprinkle with sea salt. Best served warm.
