Mom's Stew

Ingredients:

stew meat 

1 large russet potato

3 large carrots

4 stalks of celery

1/4 small green cabbage

     Optional: peas and/or green beans

1/2 small onion

1 pkg aujus mix

1 pkg brown gravy mix

Instructions:

  1. Salt and pepper meat and sear on all sides and place into crock pot

  2. Mix 1/2 pkg of aujus mix with 1 cup of water, deglaze the pan and pour over meat

  3. Cut up potato, carrots, celery, cabbage and onion and put into crock pot

  4. Mix remaining augus mix with gravy mix in 2 cups of water and add to crock pot

  5. Add more water if needed until everything is just covered in liquid.

  6. Cook on low for at least 8 hours
