Indian-Spiced Steak

Ingredients:

flank or skirt steak

1 tsp coriander 

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp mustard 

1 tsp chili powder

1/2 tsp cayenne

1 tsp garam masala

1 tsp ground tumeric

onion

red bell pepper

serrano chili

fresh ginger, minced

garlic, minced

vegetable oil

2 tbl vinegar

cilantro

rice for serving (add a little seasoning and cilantro)

Instructions:

  1. Combine spices in a small bowl and set aside. (cumin, mustard, peppercorn, chili powder, cayenne, garam masala and tumeric) 

  2. Slice meat into strips and pat dry.

  3. Add oil to cast-iron pan and cook steak for 2 to 3 minutes per side. Set aside

  4. Saute onion, bell pepper and serrano, slightly soften then add garlic and ginger. 

  5. Add vinegar, some of the spices (to taste) and steak into pan.

  6. Just before serving toss in fresh cilantro.
