Glazed Figs
Note:
If the figs are really firm you can slice them and serve that way.
If figs are a bit soft, cut them into chunks and serve as a chunky jam.
Ingredients:
6 to 8 figs
3 tbl maple syrup
4-5 slices bacon
1 tbl red wine vinegar
1/2 tbl red pepper flakes
pinch of salt
Optional: add a slice of cheese

Instructions:
-
Partially cook bacon in a frying pan on the stove to release some of the grease. When you have a couple of tablespoons worth of grease, transfer bacon to parchment lined baking sheet and finish off to crisp in the oven at 400 degrees.
-
In the pan with the grease, add maple syrup and heat to a light bubble. Add figs and simmer for a couple of minutes.
-
Transfer the figs to a shallow serving bowl or plate with a slotted spoon.
-
In the pan with the syrup, add vinegar, red pepper flakes and a pinch of salt. Reduce to thicken and drizzle over figs.
-
Top with bacon.
