Chocolate Caramel Cake

Ingredients:

1 box devil's food cake mix

1 can sweetened condensed milk

1 cup caramel topping

3 cups whipped topping

3 heath bars, crushed

optional: cream cheese and ganache (recipe)

Instructions:

  1. Make cake as per box instructions in a regular cake pan.

  2. As soon as you remove cake from oven, poke holes with a fork every inch all over the cake.

  3. Pour sweetened condensed milk and caramel all over the top of the cake while it is still warm. Let it soak in.

  4. Whip topping and add crushed Heath bars. Frost the cake and keep chilled until serving.

Optional - see photo above:

  1. Bake the cake in a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.

  2. Follow instructions 2-3 and chill the cake.

  3. Cut out layers of cake with a cookie cutter.

  4. Add 1/2 cup softened cream cheese to whip topping mixture and use that to pipe between layers.

  5. Top with ganache and crushed Heath bars.
